For this project we had to design a long spanning roof structure that provided cover over 20m x 20m space with a head height of 5m. We had to provide orthographic drawings of the structure, distinguishing between the primary and secondary structure, distinguishing between the types of joints; provide diagrams showing deflection, internal forces, and load path under both gravity and lateral load; as well as a proposed step-by-step construction sequence of the structure and construction details of the joints.
